SESC

Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 19, 2026  •  Sports and Exercise Science Co. (SESC), Kuwait

This Privacy Policy explains how Sports and Exercise Science Co. (“SESC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a sports medicine and performance centre based in Kuwait, collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you visit sesc.net, book an appointment or class, purchase a membership or a product from our store, subscribe to SESC University video courses, or otherwise interact with us, including over WhatsApp. By using our website or services you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who we are

SESC (Sports and Exercise Science Co.) operates a sports medicine and performance centre in Kuwait offering physical therapy, performance development, recovery, nutrition, and sports psychology services, alongside an online store for fitness and recovery products and SESC University, our library of instructional video courses. For the purposes of this Policy, SESC is the data controller responsible for the personal data described below.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information, depending on how you use our services:

Account and booking information

  • Name, email address, phone number, and gender.
  • Appointment, class, and membership booking details, including the service requested, preferred practitioner or department (for example Physical Therapy, Performance Development, Recovery, Nutrition, or Sports Psychology), and appointment history.
  • Login credentials for your SESC account (we store passwords in hashed form and never in plain text).

Health-adjacent intake information

To deliver a safe and effective session, our practitioners may ask you to complete an intake form or verbal screening covering information such as your injury history, current pain or limitations, fitness goals, activity level, and relevant lifestyle factors (for example sleep or stress, where a service such as our Sports Psychology or Recovery programs relates to it). This information is collected to plan and personalise your program, not to diagnose or treat a medical condition — SESC is a sports medicine and performance centre, not a hospital or emergency medical provider. See our Terms & Conditions for how this distinction affects liability. Intake information is treated as sensitive and is only accessible to the practitioners and administrative staff who need it to deliver your service.

Payment information

When you pay for a booking, membership, store order, or University subscription, your payment is processed directly by our payment partners — KNET and Tap Payments (which in turn supports Visa, Mastercard, and American Express cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and the Deema “buy now, pay later” option). SESC does not receive or store your full card number, CVV, or banking credentials — these are entered directly into our payment partners’ secure, encrypted checkout pages. We receive only confirmation that a payment succeeded or failed, a transaction reference, and the last few digits of the card where the gateway provides them, for order-matching and support purposes.

Store order information

  • Delivery address and/or your chosen pickup preference, for orders placed through our store.
  • Order contents, order value, and order status history.

SESC University (course and video subscription) information

  • Subscription plan, billing cycle, and course or video-viewing activity needed to manage your access and enforce plan entitlements.
  • We do not sell or share your individual viewing history with unrelated third parties.

Communications data

Messages you send us or receive from us by WhatsApp, email, or phone, including booking confirmations, reminders, and support conversations. Our WhatsApp channel is operated through Resayil, a WhatsApp business messaging platform — see Section 4 below.

Website and technical data

  • IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and referring pages, collected automatically when you use sesc.net.
  • Cookie data — see Section 5.

3. How we use your information

We use the information described above to:

  • Create and manage your account, and process bookings, membership sign-ups, store orders, and University subscriptions.
  • Allow our practitioners to prepare for and personalise your session based on the intake information you provide.
  • Process payments and prevent fraud, in coordination with KNET and Tap Payments.
  • Send booking confirmations, appointment reminders, order and delivery updates, and respond to your questions, including over WhatsApp.
  • Fulfil and deliver store orders, or prepare them for in-person pickup.
  • Provide access to SESC University courses and videos matching your subscription plan.
  • Maintain the security of our website, systems, and accounts, and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Improve our services, website, and course content based on how they are used.
  • Meet our legal, tax, and regulatory obligations as a business operating in Kuwait.
  • With your consent, send you information about new services, promotions, or events. You may opt out of marketing messages at any time; you will still receive essential service messages, such as appointment reminders or order updates, related to a booking or order you have made.

4. WhatsApp communications and consent

SESC communicates with clients over WhatsApp using Resayil, a WhatsApp-based customer communication platform. When you message us on WhatsApp, or provide your number when booking, ordering, or registering, you consent to receiving booking confirmations, appointment reminders, order and delivery updates, and, where you have opted in, service announcements through this channel. Messages sent through WhatsApp are subject to WhatsApp’s own privacy practices in addition to this Policy, and are processed by Resayil on our behalf under a data processing arrangement limited to delivering our messaging service. You can ask us at any time to stop contacting you on WhatsApp for non-essential purposes by messaging us directly or by contacting us using the details in Section 14.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage) to keep you logged in, remember items in your cart, understand how visitors use sesc.net, and support core store and booking functionality (for example WooCommerce and our booking system).

  • Strictly necessary cookies — required for login, checkout, and booking to function; these cannot be switched off.
  • Functional cookies — remember your preferences, such as language or previously entered details.
  • Analytics cookies — help us understand site usage so we can improve our pages and services.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the site — such as checkout or your account area — from working correctly.

6. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only where necessary to run our business, and always on a need-to-know basis:

  • Payment processors — KNET and Tap Payments, to process card, KNET, digital wallet, and Deema payments.
  • WhatsApp messaging (Resayil) — to deliver booking, order, and support messages you have consented to receive.
  • Delivery and logistics — where you choose delivery for a store order, we share the minimum address and contact details needed to complete delivery.
  • IT, hosting, and software vendors — who host our website, store, booking system, and email/SMTP infrastructure under confidentiality obligations.
  • Professional and legal advisors, and authorities — where required to comply with Kuwaiti law, respond to a valid legal request, or protect the rights, property, or safety of SESC, our clients, or the public.
  • Business transfers — if SESC were to undergo a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, client information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

7. Payment processing

All online payments on sesc.net — for bookings, memberships, store orders, and SESC University subscriptions — are processed through KNET and Tap Payments. Card details, KNET credentials, and digital wallet authentication (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay) are handled entirely within these providers’ own secure, PCI-compliant systems and never pass through or are stored on SESC servers. Deema, where offered at checkout, is a “buy now, pay later” payment method provided by a third-party financial partner, not a SESC product; using it means you are also subject to Deema’s own terms and privacy practices. Prices are shown and charged in Kuwaiti Dinars (KWD).

8. Data retention

We retain personal data for as long as needed to provide our services and meet our legal, accounting, and tax obligations under Kuwaiti law. In practice this means account and booking records are generally kept for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to handle any follow-up questions, disputes, or legal requirements; order and payment records are retained in line with applicable commercial and tax record-keeping requirements; and website analytics data is retained only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected. When data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it.

9. Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including restricting access to client and health-adjacent intake information to staff who need it to deliver your service, using encrypted connections (HTTPS) on our website, and relying on PCI-compliant payment partners so that we never handle raw card data ourselves. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and will notify affected clients and relevant authorities where required by law in the event of a data breach that poses a real risk to you.

10. Your rights and choices

Subject to Kuwaiti law, you have the right to:

  • Ask us what personal data we hold about you and request a copy of it.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Ask us to delete your personal data, subject to our legal, contractual, and accounting obligations to retain certain records.
  • Withdraw consent to marketing or WhatsApp communications at any time, without affecting the service messages tied to an active booking or order.
  • Ask us to restrict certain processing, or object to it, where applicable.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 14. We may need to verify your identity before actioning a request.

11. Children's privacy

Our services are intended for adults and for minors booked and accompanied through a parent or guardian’s account (for example our youth athlete and pediatric programs). We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children without the involvement of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data without appropriate parental involvement, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

12. International data transfers

SESC operates in Kuwait, and our systems and service providers (such as hosting, payment, and messaging infrastructure) may process or store data outside Kuwait. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure our providers protect your information consistently with this Policy, including by relying on established, security-audited payment and cloud providers.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, technology, or legal requirements. We will post the revised Policy on this page with an updated effective date, and where a change is material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you, for example by email or WhatsApp. Continued use of our services after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Policy.
